Hallmark Movie Review: "Love, Fall & Order"
Our Cozy Hallmark Tradition
Last November, my wife, Jamie, and I decided to start watching Hallmark movies together. We kicked things off on November 1st with the Christmas ones, and before we knew it, it became our nightly tradition. Every evening at dinnertime, we’d sit down, press play, and let ourselves get wrapped up in the magic. We kept going after Christmas, moving into the rom-coms and seasonal favorites, and now, almost a year later, we’ve watched one nearly every night.
What we love most is how these movies make us feel. They’re safe. They’re lighthearted. There’s no stress, no anxiety. People treat each other with love and kindness, and even when there’s conflict, it never turns mean-spirited. For us, it’s become a ritual of joy and connection, something that brings us closer together while reminding us that romance and goodness still matter in the world.
Love, Fall & Order
This week we watched Love, Fall & Order, a Hallmark movie set in Vermont during the fall season. Right away, it pulled us in with the scenery—changing leaves, hayrides, a fall festival, cider donuts—everything that makes autumn feel warm and homey.
The story centers on two lawyers from the same hometown who end up on opposite sides of a case. What I appreciated was how the rivalry was handled. It wasn’t cutthroat, backstabbing, or full of lies. Instead, it was playful, respectful, and honestly pretty sweet. It never once gave us that icky feeling you sometimes get from movies where the conflict goes too far.
Instead, the whole movie lifted our spirits. It made us feel more in love with each other just by watching. That’s what I think Hallmark does so well—it brings back the innocence of romance. Instead of focusing on lust or sex like so many modern stories, these films highlight the beauty of simple things: holding hands, sharing eye contact, or finally leaning in for that kiss after an entire movie of build-up.
Why It Stood Out
The actors had great chemistry, the music was warm, and the storyline carried us through with no dull spots. The family dynamics were uplifting too—the way parents treated their kids with kindness and respect was refreshing. These movies consistently model good values, family bonds, and pure love, which is one of the reasons we’ve stuck with them night after night.
By the end of Love, Fall & Order, both of us agreed it was exactly the kind of feel-good story we’d recommend. Instead of giving it a number rating, we’ll just say this: if you want to cozy up on the couch, sip on some cider, and feel good about life and love, this is a movie worth watching.
